Hi there,

I have just bought my laptop (HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G3) for about 8 months. While I am working on my assigments, the laptop would shut down by itself without any warning despite having much battery life. I am afraid it might shut down on me while I am attempting an online test.

This is a potential hardware issue. Contact HP after determining your Serial number. Easiest way to get that info- minimize all open windows so you can see desktop screen. Next hold the fn key and press esc key.
