Envy 360

I purchased an HP Envy 360 for my son to do e-learning last year in August so it is now a little over a year old.  I noticed the fan is constantly running even thought the computer is not hot.  It is elevated using an adjustable laptop stand which suspends the laptop off the desk so the bottom of the laptop is not touching anything and has sufficient airflow.  I have checked for updates and updated anything shown available yet nothing seems to work. I have clean the computer to ensure there is no dust on it. When the fan is on, the it is pretty loud.  Considering my son was is now in 3rd grade, he isn't running any software that would really challenge the laptop.  Any advice?

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I understand that your HP notebook fan is not working correctly. 
use the following steps:

  • Shut down the computer, and then inspect and clean the exterior vents to remove dust buildup by blowing air through the vent openings. Dust can accumulate inside the vent openings and around internal cooling components, preventing the removal of heat.

  • After you remove the dust, turn on the computer. If the error message persists, continue with these steps.
  • Perform a hard reset. Performing a hard reset can reset recorded thermal values in memory and enable you to use the computer again, even if only for a short time to access and save any important files before service.

  • In some cases, updating the BIOS might help prevent this error from occurring. For more information on how to update the BIOS, see Updating the BIOS.
