Dear expert, 

My laptop can't open it says the internal primary battery is very low. Which is the primary battery the large one or the small round one. Thanks, 

I tried to disconnect the big battery by removing the plug ( about six wires in it). The plug is connected to the mother board. I use the AC adapter but still the laptop does not work. The primary battery is the round one called the cmos battery. 

please advise me. Thanks!

It is the main one, not the small called RTC battery. Please use the following instructions to check

Dear expert, my friend thank you so much to let me know the internal primary battery is the large one which is rechargeable. Some one told me primary battery means it can not be charged. Therefore from my laptop diagnostic the battery low is the large rectangular one. 

However, my laptop could not be on, if waiting a long time it showed the battery error and system(some word I do not remember) is invalid and internal primary battery is very low. It asks me to hit Enter key. a new HP page will appear with two options, restart and advanced option, unfortunately non of them could bring back the window. So I could not use your method to test battery. Should I just order a new battery to solve my laptop?
