I have a HP Laptop (Model: 14-dq0051dx) that doesn’t turn on. When I press the power button, the screen flashes white then goes black. It is connected to the AC adapter. I tried another AC adapter to make sure it wasn’t the power cord that was bad, but it did the same thing. I removed the battery and reseated the RAM and connected it to the power supply without the battery attached and it turned on fine. I reset the BIOS, too. The laptop was running fine without the battery attached and being plugged in to the power supply. Once I attached the battery again, it started having the same issue as before. The power indicator light will also turn orange then blink white. Sometimes it blinks white six times and other times it blinks white thirteen times. Is this pointing towards a faulty battery? Thank you for any help!

Yes, symptoms are related to faulty battery. Laptops batteries typically last 2-4 years under normal use before significant degradation or failure. So if it is this much old then get new original battery.

Thank you! I believe I purchased the laptop about five or more years ago. It’s a laptop that has had regular use over the years. I really appreciate your feedback! I will see about getting a new battery and hopefully it will solve the issue.
