Microsoft Windows 11

Hi everyone,

I’m using an HP laptop running Windows 11 and would like some advice about improving its overall performance.

The laptop has started feeling slower during normal use, especially when opening applications and switching between multiple tasks. I’ve already checked for Windows updates and restarted the system, but I’d like to understand what else I should check before making any major changes.

What would you recommend checking first—startup applications, background processes, storage health, drivers, or something else?

I’d appreciate any suggestions from other HP users who have dealt with similar performance issues.

You can try optimizing Windows to improve overall system performance and responsiveness. One tool worth checking out is Chris Titus Tech Windows Utility, also known as the Chris Titus utility. It is widely used for Windows optimization, and you can find YouTube tutorials explaining how to use its features. However, make sure you understand each option before applying any changes.

If you have any third-party antivirus installed, consider uninstalling it if you don't need it, as some antivirus programs can consume system resources.

Also, open Task Manager and check which processes are running in the background. Uninstall unnecessary programs and disable startup apps that you don't need. Keep only the startup applications that are important for your daily use.

If the issue still persists, I recommend backing up your important data to an external USB drive or another storage device and performing a clean Windows reset through Settings. Choose the option to remove everything, but be aware that this will erase your personal files, applications, and settings. After the reset, fully update Windows and your device drivers, then apply the relevant Windows optimization steps mentioned above.

Thanks for the detailed instructions. I followed your suggestions, especially checking the background processes and startup applications, and the issue has been resolved. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain the troubleshooting steps clearly.
