Hi,

I have an HP Omen 17, with a Win10/Win10 dual boot config.

I wanted to test Win11, so I removed the Win10 drive and installed Win11 on a fresh NVMe drive.

I wanted to switch back to my old system, so I removed the new drive with Win11 and put back in the old drive, and now I'm getting a secure boot error.

"Invalid signature detected. Check Secure boot policy in setup"

I tried disabling secure boot, but i just get a black screen and nothing happens- I believe that this laptop had secure boot enabled by default and that my previous win10 installation may need to have it on. I don't get errors, just a black screen with nothing happening. If I remove the win10 drive and put the win11 drive back in, it works.

I'm afraid if I clear/delete the secure boot key, it will render my new win11 install unbootable as well.

How do I get my win10 drive to boot up properly again?

EDIT: SOLUTION FOUND!! I disabled secure boot, went into the "Bios Startup Menu" and selected "System Recovery".

Voila, It went right into my dual boot screen!

SOLUTION FOUND!! I disabled secure boot (in the F10 screen) went into the "Bios Startup Menu" (ESC) and selected "System Recovery".

Voila, It went right into my dual boot screen!

Note: HP is a bit convoluted with their bios options. Hitting F10 gets you into the normal bios screen where you can disable secure boot, but you must hit escape to get to the "Bios Startup Menu" and this is where you find "System Recovery". Normal boot resumed after clicking on this, I hope it helps some other poor soul in the same situation.
