From my testing, doing the following:
- reseting Windows and installing AMD drivers both Microsoft Edge and Chrome do freeze up (because are both Chromium based) and also on Firefox.

Single solution I found was to go to Chrome > Settings > System and disable GPU accelerations.

I have Ubuntu installed and I have no freezeups but it uses open source drivers.

i would recommend HP to contact AMD or troubleshoot the issue by any means because it is really frustrating.

I cannot send it back to HP my laptop because I voided my warranty (the reason is simply that I needed a larger disk), but I think that this is really too frustrating for most users and it might give a bad reputation for otherwise a very nice laptop and users shouldn't swap to Linux because HP or AMD (I assume that the bug is on AMD/Chrome side) simply do not push.

If it helps, I can give remote access to my laptop or install any drivers and you can contact me privately (I am a software engineer, but not a driver dev, so I am fine to install debugging tools like VS or Windows DDK) and I give all access you need to do your experiments to validate the fixed bug.

Hey,

Same problem is happening to me, and disabling the AMD driver has solved the issue it seems like. Thanks.

How did you download the older AMD driver versions though? Couldn't find anything on HP or AMD's website, so can you please provide a link if possible? Thank you.

Resetting helps for a week or so, but then it starts again.

Awful Notebook it is.
