Awesome! The laptop is now Windows 7 ready... 🙂
Everything installed except:

Unknown Device
ACPI\INT3400
*INT3400
Unknown Device
ACPI\MSFT0101
*MSFT0101
But, to be honest maybe I don't even need these!! 🙂
You're a legend Paul!

You're very welcome.
I'm surprised the hotfix didn't install the TPM 2.0 device.
But you definitely don't need that unless you wanted to use bitlocker and were running W7 Ultimate (which is the only version of W7 that can use bitlocker).
See if this Intel thermal etc driver works. Maybe the one I gave you was for the 5th gen processors...
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp73501-74000/sp73881.exe
Try browsing to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file if the auto install doesn't work, from the update driver method for the device like you did with the chipset driver.
The driver would be located in C:\SWSetup\sp73881.
The hardware ID's you posted are present in the setup information files for the above driver, so it should work one way or the other.
Int3400 is in the esif_manager setup inf file as is shown in this partial copy and paste of the file contents...
[INTEL.NTamd64.6.3]
%INT3400.DeviceDesc% = EsifManager6.3,ACPI\INT3400
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1903 is located in the dtpf_cpu setup information file as shown in this partial copy and paste of the file contents,,,
[Manufacturer]
%INTEL%=INTEL, NTamd64
[INTEL.NTamd64]
%PROCSNB.DeviceDesc% = DptfCpu,PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0103
%PROCIVB.DeviceDesc% = DptfCpu,PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0153
%PROCHSW.DeviceDesc% = DptfCpu,PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0C03
%PROCHSW.DeviceDesc% = DptfCpu,PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0A03
%PROCHSW.DeviceDesc% = DptfCpu,PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0D03
%PROCBDW.DeviceDesc% = DptfCpu,PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1603
%PROCSKL.DeviceDesc% = DptfCpu,PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1903
%PROCCHT.DeviceDesc% = DptfCpu,PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_22DC
You may want to try running that hotfix again and see what happens.

Thanks for this great thread! I now have my gaming laptop running W7 Pro effortlessly.
So many attempts were foiled by NOT knowing that USB3 drivers HAD to be installed on the Win7 image to progress.
A million thanks!
