Hi, I'm contacting you to ask for help regarding the HP Pavilion dv7 1015el (I know it's out of support but I hope you can help me anyway), basically due to various Windows installations and various problems I lost the original system (Windows Vista Home Premium) and the recovery partition (the one with F11), now I hope you can help me with some recovery site or file, I hope you can help me in some way, I don't know what to do anymore.

Hi @uomoalbuio2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that your HP Pavilion dv7-1015el, unfortunately, no longer provides the original recovery partition or media directly — that model is over a decade old (Vista-era), and HP’s OEM recovery sets are typically only available for 5–7 years after release.

Here’s what you can do:

What the “original” system was

The dv7-1015el originally shipped with:

Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit (Italian in your case, since it’s the “el” model sold in Italy)

HP’s preinstalled software suite (HP QuickPlay, HP Advisor, CyberLink DVD, etc.)

Recovery partition (D:) with HP Recovery Manager

Currently, Microsoft gives support for Windows 10 and Windows 11 OS only.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
