Hi:

There are no versions of W8 available for download, but here is a way you can install W8.1 Single Language for free by using the W8 Single Language product key in your notebook's BIOS.

Install W8.1 by creating the Microsoft installation media, using another Windows PC, if yours is not working...You want W8.1 Single Language 64 bit.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8ISO

Only if you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, use this generic key.

This is the generic key for W8.1 Single Language

If you had to enter the generic key, manually change the generic product key to the W8 Single Language key in your PC's BIOS in the PC settings menu.

After you get W8.1 installed, and you had to manually enter the W8.1 generic product key, you will need to run the free utility I zipped up and attached below, that will show you show the W8 product key in your PC's BIOS.

I have also zipped up and attached below, the Microsoft tool which hopefully will transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so it is bootable.

Then you can install the available drivers and software from your PC's support page.

You're very welcome.

I don't know what model wifi adapter your notebook comes with, so if the wifi adapter needs a driver, there will be a device listed in the device manager labeled as a Network Controller.

I will need you to post the hardware ID for the network controller device, so I can figure out what driver it needs.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device...

https://www.howtogeek.com/193798/how-to-find-drivers-for-unknown-devices-in-the-device-manager/

You will also need the wireless button driver so the F12 key works to turn the wifi on or off.

This package provides the driver for the HP Wireless Button on supported models running a supported operating system. HP Wireless Button allows the physical (hardware) wireless radio button on the system to enable and disable the wireless connection on the system.

Hi:

Your screen shot shows no presence of a wifi adapter, so that means there is a hardware issue of some kind.

Try removing and firmly reseating the wifi adapter.  Leave the antenna cables connected to the card if you can.

That will save time reseating the card.

Sometimes the contacts get oxidized and the electrical connection is cut off.

See chapter 4 of the service manual for the wifi adapter R & R procedure.

If removing and reseating the wifi adapter doesn't get it to show up, you will need to replace the wifi adapter, or purchase an external USB wifi adapter.
