PAUL - the brightness control buttons on a laptop keyboard...are those controlled by a DRIVER or by the OS ?

HP Recommended

The brightness controls should work if the chipset and graphics drivers are installed.

Also that model uses the quick launch buttons driver.

I was asking "IN GENERAL" not for this model - I "rolled back my Lenovo to 7 cuz I HATE 10 and can't get my BRIGHTNESS buttons to work....and I'll be rolling back an HP 2000 laptop also

...And how am I supposed to know that you are asking this question "IN GENERAL"???

The subject of the post was in reference to a zd8000.

If you don't own a zd8000, why are you posting on this thread?   Please start a new topic.

You have to have the correct chipset and graphics drivers installed in order to adjust the brightness on most any notebook.

If you have done that, then there is probably a specific driver needed to control the brightness buttons.

There is a Lenovo notebook forum you can post that question on.
