We have several HP Pro x2 612 G2s that are seeing this issue. Secure logon 'pressing ctrl alt del to unlock' is enabled and can not be turned off in our environment. I am unable to unlock these without using the keyboard. The hold power and press volume down key sequence does not work, instead the device turns off. Changing power options 'what happens when you press the power button' in Windows 10 to do nothing still does not allow the key sequence to unlock.
We are unable to disable secure logon as per policy, and I do not want to enable the on screen keyboard for this task. These are a custom install of Windows 10. is it possible that I am missing a driver that controls this feature?

It has been confirmed that in the initial release of the 612 x2 G2 the verion of Windows used to create the preinstall image was Windows 10 RS1.
Testing with the 612 x2 G2 has shown that when using the RS1 release of Windows 10, Power + Volume Down performs a Ctrl+Alt+Delete.
The appropriate teams within HP have been notified that this feature is not available in RS2 or the Creators Update of Windows 10.
At this time I do not know if this is something that can be fixed by HP or will fix be an update from MS.

Hello
We have very similiar issue on Windows 10 1703.
Issue details
When device is locked in tablet mode the combination of Power+VolumeDown keys does work but it also put the machine to sleep.
Basically user has to press the Power button again (after about 3 seconds) in order to bring device back from sleep and the he is presented with our Legal notice. he presses OK and is asked for his credentials.
Problem is that this is slow and irritating behaviour. Not expected from high quality device. Same windows 10 setup does have this behaviour on Surface Pro 4.
Root cause
Most likely root casue is that in Windows 10 Power Settings default action on "Power button pressed" is "go to sleep".
In theroy we can change this to "Do nothing". In this setup unlocking with Power+VolumeDown combo works like a charm.
But then user has no quick way to lock the device when no keyboard is avaible.
Possible remediation
Can HP BIOS or FW canbe updated so that Power+VolumeDown combo does not trigger Sleep mode?
Please assist. We are planning to buy more of those devices but this behaviour is a significant show-stopper.

Good News Everyone
We managed to fix the problem by BIOS settings change.
There is an option to enable 'Modern Standby' feature (in Advanced --> Power).
After that setting is changed an OS reinstallation is required however it does solve the problem completely.
Tested on HP Pro x2 612 G2 with latest BIOS version (01.07A).

Has anyone sorted this?. I am building HP Pro X2 612 G2 with Windows 10 Enterprise 1703 (Creators edition). The Volume & Power down will not unlock. Strangley it works fine with Windows 10 1607. I have a ticket open with HP but if anyone ever solved love to hear. I did try the modern standby in Bios but machine wouldn't build properly stalling when appling security patches so left it unticked. If this feature does not work it causes big problem for my company since users cannot user it in a "mobile" fashion i.e. out on the road with no keyboard
