This is very strange. I do not have this issue on 1703. Which MS patches are failing?

@Joel - is this a known problem with HP ?? - if this doesn't work it defeats the whole point of using tablets without the keyboard attached

Is this an HP issue or a Microsoft issue because as said appears to be fine on 1607 build

Need some sort of fix asap. In an Enterprise build these doesn't appear to be a swipe to unlock option available as that would help

Only way I can see is to use GPO to disable the lock screen which will leave the password box showing

To my understanding the issue is being worked with Microsoft as something changed in the most recent builds of Windows 10.  Please continue to monitor driver announcements and advisories for the 612 x2 G2.  I will also continue to monitor this issue and will post any updates as they become avaialble.

I have recieved an update that this issues has been corrected by Microsoft.  Testing with Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (1709) has confirmed the fix.

Good say sir!

Question:  Can i get access to this microsoft update?  i have corp users in need of this fix and we have been dead in the water for 2 week. SOS.

Question:  Is this 1709 ?  or and update on top of 1709?

Thanks!

According to the update I reveived,  Windows 10 1709 corrects this issue and no additional patches are required.

I suggest updating a test system to 1709 and verifying the fix in your environment.

I upgraded one from v1703 to v1709 and it kinda fix it ….but not really….

It still shuts off when you push power+down arrow….but then when you turn it back on (sometimes have to do it twice) it is past the CTRL-ALT-DEL screen and you can enter your login credentials.

Confirmed. I setup an SCCM build with 1709 and it worked out of the box

Reran 1703 build and it failed. HOWEVER after the Microsoft Cumulative Windows 10 update 1703 17-12 and a reboot it WORKED. so after about 2 weeks wasted turns out Microsoft O/S issue after all

Happy all resolved. As I said the problem was serious enough to completely halt our rollout because if users can't use  out in the field without the travel keyboard it defeats the purpose of having a tablet if you can't unlock the **bleep** thing !

Thanks all for replies.

To be clear.....   When you confirmed the Dec update fixed this issue in v1703, had you enabled the Modern Standby setting in the BIOS, or did you leave it at the factory default setting of disabled?

HP Recommended

No - standard Bios settings. I actually did nothing to two or three other tablets other than the normal Patch Tuesday updates and they also started working i.e after the W10 1703 December cumulative update
