The Recovery Manager download will only work IF you have the original recovery partition. Anyone who has formatted that partition OR had to replace hard drive will need Recovery Media from HP if none was made using the software on the laptop.

If you live in US/Ca the Recovery Media is usually listed to order from your Support page in drivers/software. If you live elsewhere you must contact HP.

OR-anyone with Windows 10 can use the free Media Creation Tool from Microsoft to make a usb flash drive installation for Win 10. Click Download the tool- select Run. Select Create installation media for another pc.
