Hi Matthew,

 

I have the same issue. I just restarted the notebook. the fan failure  seems to be a fairly common issue with this model. Seems as though with this many occurrences,  HP would service out of warranty units for free. please let me know what the next steps are to replace the notebook fan or the entire unit.  

 

Can you please also send me a private message re solution.

please let me know what the next steps are to replace the notebook fan or the entire unit.  

 

If the device is out-of-warranty, then hire a computer technician to replace the fan.

If the device's warranty is still valid, contact HP Support, to open a claim against the Warranty. Then, it will be HP's option to either replace the fan, or to replace the whole computer.

That cannot be done, for two reasons:

I have the same issue.

 

This is a well-used forum, with thousands of "discussion threads". To which issue are you referring?
