HP Spectre x360 - 15-df0013dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just upgraded from BIOS F.31 to BIOS F.32 Rev.A.  During the upgrade, I had an external monitor plugged into my USB C port and HDMI port.  I thought it was strange that during the upgrade for one part it showed on the monitor connected to the USB C port.  After the upgrade, USB C port has completely stopped working.  it does not matter what I plug into the USB C port ( USB drive, video adapter, network adapter),  nothing works.  The Thunderbolt and USB A and HDMI ports all still work.

I ran a diagnostic on the port via the boot options and it reports that the port is not working even though it was working fine just prior and during the BIOS upgrade.  I tried installing the BIOS upgrade again (this time with nothing attached) and tried various ways to rollback the BIOS but it is not allowing the rollback.

Anyone else seeing this issue with the BIOS F.32 Rev.A update?   Any way to rollback the BIOS to F.31?  Thanks!

I had to contact HP Technical Support.  The solution was as simple as doing a hard reboot on the laptop to get the USB-C port to work again.  For this model, it was removing any connected devices including the power, powering down the laptop, holding the power button for 20 seconds.  it would be nice to having info on preforming a hard reboot with the user guide.  There was nothing there.

@RK111 Welcome to HP Community!

It's possible the BIOS update was interrupted, the same could have corrupted the installation causing this issue,

I suggest using the steps mentioned in this link to resolve the issue: Click here

Thank you for the reply.  As I mentioned in my original post, I already tried rolling back the BIOS upgrade using the same information that you provided.  it does not allow BIOS to be rolled back to prior version even with creating BIOS recovery drive using the prior BIOS version.  Please let me know if there are specific steps that will allow reinstalling F.32 or recovering back version F.31.  Thank you.

Since I was not able to recover back to the prior BIOS of F.31, I tried doing a recovery to current BIOS F.32.  After completing the recover to current BIOS F.32, the same results with the USB C port not functional but all of the other ports are.

Is there a bug in this BIOS version for this laptop model?

Has anyone else had any issues with the BIOS F.32 Rev.A upgrade on HP Spectre x360 - 15-df0013dx?

There doesn't seem to be any known issue with the BIOS F32 Rev A. But since your Notebook BIOS has been corrupted, you need to send it for repair to HP

I recently sent the laptop in for a repair.  I can not be without it again.  I am looking for resolutions that I can perform with out sending in the unit.
