HP Stream Completely Unresponsive

I bought this HP stream last year and used it a handful of times. Recently, I turned it on but the screen is black. There is a power light (white) on the side. I tried plugging it in to my tv with an hdmi cable - nothing. I sent it to a computer repair shop and they said the battery was ok but they couldn't figure out what was wrong. Any suggestion? I feel like I wasted my money.

Thank you for replying, but as I mentioned in my description of the issue, connecting to an alternate monitor did not work. I just tried again for good measure- no sign of life.
