Hi @Anurag212

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for your patience and for attempting the update. The message “Windows encountered a problem installing the device” typically indicates a mismatch between the driver and the hardware ID, or a corrupted driver store.

To resolve the HP TrueVision HD Camera driver installation error, please use HP’s official driver package and follow the clean install steps below.

Let’s walk through a clean, reliable method to restore your camera functionality.

Step 1: Download the correct driver from HP

Please use HP’s official support page for your HP 15s-eq1000 Laptop:

Once on the page:

  1. Select your operating system (Windows 11 or 10).
  2. Scroll to Driver – Keyboard, Mouse, and Input Devices.
  3. Download the Realtek or Sonix Camera Driver listed there (HP TrueVision HD Camera is typically supported by one of these).

Step 2: Clean uninstall existing camera drivers

  1. Press Windows + X → select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras.
  3. Right-click HP TrueVision HD Camera → select Uninstall device.
  4. Check Delete the driver software for this device if available → click Uninstall.
  5. Restart your laptop.

Step 3: Install the downloaded driver

  1. Run the downloaded .exe file directly (do not extract manually).
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
  3. Restart your system once done.

Step 4: Confirm installation

  1. Open Device Manager again.
  2. Confirm that HP TrueVision HD Camera appears under Cameras or Imaging Devices without any warning icon.
  3. Open Camera app (search “Camera” in Start) to test functionality.

If the issue persists

  • Boot into Safe Mode with Networking and retry the installation.
  • Temporarily disable antivirus or security software during install.
  • Run Windows Update and install any pending updates before retrying.
