@HSGSJ, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
It sounds like you're dealing with a docking station issue where the power is on (because the indicator light on the connector is on), but the LCD light is not turning on, and the docking station itself isn't working properly. Here are a few things you can check or troubleshoot:
Check the Power Supply:
Even though the power is on, the voltage might be insufficient. Try unplugging the docking station for a minute, and then plug it back in.
Check the LCD Connections:
If the LCD screen is connected via a cable, ensure that the cable is properly plugged in at both ends (to the docking station and the display).
Try using a different cable to rule out a defective one.
Monitor the Device Manager:
On your PC, open Device Manager to see if the docking station is recognized.
If there’s an issue, the device might show up as an unknown device or with an error code.
Right-click on the docking station entry and select Uninstall, then restart the computer to automatically reinstall the drivers.
Update or Reinstall Drivers:
Go to HP USB-C Dock G5 Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
Check if there are any updated drivers or firmware for it. Installing the latest updates might solve the issue.
Test the Docking Station with Another Computer:
Try plugging the docking station into a different computer. This can help determine whether the issue is with the docking station or your original computer.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
