Hi MKazi,
Thank you very much for your great support. Appreciated it so much!
From your reply it seems that I may not be able to create a recovery image because my laptop was not loaded with the original operating systems which was Wins 8. Is this correct?
Also, I did click on the links you provided, but not quite get it. I will revisit them about how to create a recovery image.
My laptop is still doing downloading for wins 10. This morning it has installed Wins 10 already but not sure why it is downloading updates for wins 10.
Thanks so much again.

Hi and a good day to you! 🙂
You're correct, it will not allow to create the recovery media unless the original operating system in present in your laptop.
However, you may surely check the links I posted earlier. They seem to open up fine when I checked again.
There are a lot of updates released by Microsoft so that could be a reason it is downloading those updates. However, for some reason, if the updates are stuck and do not download completely then you could try the Windows update troubleshooter.
Cheers!

Hi MKazi,
Thank you so much again.
I will surely check those links you sent to me to see if I can create a recovery image.
About Win10 update, I found yesterday that some updates were not able to be installed and were uninstalling. This issue has happened so often and I am not sure if this will affect the Win 10 systems or not. Do you have any clue on this?
Thanks.

Hi MKazi,
In my laptop, I do see a recovery drive (D:) in which there is a recovery folder. Inside the recovery folder are the following files:
-WindowsRE folder
- _CNBRP2.FLG
- HPRP
- lang
- OSLang
- TypeList
But I have never used this recovery and don't know how to use them. Is this the original recovery that came with the laptop? Can this be used to recover Windows systems?
Thanks.

Hi! @Tony1180, I am the Mr.Robot. It looks like you were interacting with @MKazi, but he is out of the office today, so I'll take over from here.
I appriciate your efforts for writing back to us.
As you mentioned the issue still persists after trying out the steps.
It looks like the files on your recovery partition has got corrupted.
Try performing a recovery using a recovery disc. If you don't have a set of recovery discs.
Please contact HP support and order a set of recovery discs.

Have a great day ahead!

Thanks a lot.
I don't have a recovery disc. How much does it cost to order a set of recovery discs from HP?
Again, still the same question, I do see a recovery drive "D" in my laptop but don't know how to use it. Can this be used for a recovery purpose? If so, could you pls provide some instructions for this?
Thanks so much again.
