I have an HP Laptop- model number 15-bs060wm that is not charging when the lid is open, however, it charges when closed and in "sleep." I am using an aftermarket charger that has been previously working fine. When I plug it in, the light on the side turns white when the lid is open and orange when it is closed. When open it does not show the charging icon or say the "plugged in, not charging" message. I bought another universal charger however the light by the charging port will not even turn on when it is plugged in. I have tried restoring the BIOS settings to no avail. Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check if it helps.

Follow the steps in the below article to update the BIOS.

If you continue facing the issue, reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager.
Here is how you do it.
Step 1: Click the Windows “Start” button and right-click “Computer.”
Step 2: Click “Manage,” then “Device Manager.”
Step 3: Click the “Batteries” section. A list of devices will appear.
Step 4: Right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” device and click “Uninstall.”
Step 5: Click the “Action” menu item and “Scan for Hardware Changes” to reinstall the driver.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
