Hp stream
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi.

I've tried to reset my HP stream as I've forgotten my log on password. It fails at around 75% every time.

I've tried every way on YouTube.

Please can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong as I need my laptop now I'm on an apprenticeship?

Thanks.

Hi:

If the reset option isn't working, try my solution at the link below...it will also maximize the disk space.

You create the installation media and boot from it.

Then you can clean install W10 and you won't need to worry about a password.

Where and how do I do that?

Where and how do you do what?

My intitial reply to your post has all of that info contained within that link.

To boot from the W10 USB installation media you create, you turn on the PC, tap the ESC key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen to get the menu of options.

Select the F9 boot options menu, and from that, select the USB flash drive and press the Enter key.

The PC should boot from the installation media.

Again, I suggest you delete all partitions on the hard drive, leaving one large partition remaining to reinstall W10 on.

How can I download to flash drive when I'm unable to get it to turn on?

All I've got is HP, then dark lit screen then unlit dark screen, then back to HP screen.

You have to make the media creation tool on another Windows PC that has W7 or newer installed, as I had written here...

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/How-to-wipe-a-HP-Stream-Laptop...

You can make a W10 USB flash drive installer with the Microsoft Media Creation Tool, using an 8 GB flash drive using another Windows PC, if your PC is not working.
