Hi  - the other day when closing my laptop it asked to update and shutdown or restart.   I clicked shutdown as I have done this dozens of times but this time when I tried to start my laptop later in the day it came up with the HP screen and then just sat there as if it was loading but didn't.   I even left it for several hours still thinking and nothing.  I have tried F1 and F11 and all it comes up with is Preparing Automatic Repair then goes back to the HP screen.  I have taken it to tech experts who say they cannot do anything.  How can an update from HP corrupt a laptop?   I have had to purchase another one as I have important deadlines to meet but have lost files on the other one.  Does anyone have any idea how to bypass this to get my laptop working again?
