Thanks for the info, my question still stands, can I replace the HD myself and if so can you guild and refer me to a retailed where I can purchase the HD.

Yes, of course we can help but we need you to help us help you. Since you tacked on to the end of someone else's post I am not sure if you have the same model laptop or not so give us the model number. Also need to know what country you live in so we know what sites you can buy from.

NOT your SERIAL NUMBER! Model number. I have to get the mods to strike the serial number now. I get the feeling you are just messing with me now. The post from @Duane_D above clearly says no serial numbers.
