the laptop has 500 hard drive can ram be upgraded thanks

According to the HP specs, your PC does NOT have a hard drive; instead, it has a 512GB NVMe SSD -- solid state drive.

 

And while yes, you could replace this with a larger capacity SSD, since this is a newer laptop, you would probably have to PRY IT APART to get to the internals, and that voids any existing warranty on it.

 

And furthermore, before you ask, HP does not do equipment upgrades under the warranty.

 

So, if the warranty is still in effect, you need to leave it alone -- for now.
