Hard drive error

So I recently had a problem with my computer and it started showing a black screen saying that my SMART hard drive has an error.  Hard drive error (301) and when I test the hard drive it shows 

hard drive/SSD SMART check FAILED

please someone help me out

the hard drive is defective
It can continue to operate for a certain time, but it can definitively break down, if it is not already the case!
If possible, save personal data
Try a full reinstall
Be careful even if it works, it may permanently break down, save the data regularly.
This may allow you to use the computer while you find a hard drive!

Hi:

 

Are you sure the third string of characters you posted is the same as the second one?

 

I am getting an invalid code when I run it through the HP diagnostics code website.

 

I can tell you that you will have to install a new hard drive and reinstall the operating system in order to fix the problem though.

If you have a HP 15-bs234wm notebook, here is the link to the service manual, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

You may want to consider replacing the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a better performing 2.5" solid state drive (SSD).

 

After you replace the drive, you can use the HP cloud recovery tool with another Windows PC running W7 64 bit or newer to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.
