HP Notebook

Hi everyone,

I have an HP Notebook, the product ID is M2C00UA#ABA, and the hard drive seems to have failed on me. Every time I try to turn on the laptop, I get the hp logo screen with a loading symbol for a few and then it goes to a black screen (and I can still see the cursor). I have tried taking out the battery and holding the power button for 30 seconds and using the ac adapter and turning it back on, still does the same.... I tried running a system "fast" test and the screen displayed a failure id: QC114M-7T7A3B-MFPWMF-60RP03 and the product id: M2C00UA#ABA and right under it says hard drive 1- Primary HDD Bay (I'll attach a picture I took of it). I don't know what to do at this point, this is my personal laptop I use every day, I'm pretty sure I've backed some things up but not all. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Also, I've attached a picture that has more information about my laptop.

Hi:

The error code reported, Hard Disk 1 Quick Test Failure, means the hard drive needs to be replaced and the operating system reinstalled.

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

After you replace the drive, you can reinstall W10 for free by creating a bootable W10 installation flash drive with another working Windows PC, and the Media creation tool at the link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

After W10 completes installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

You may want to consider replacing the mechanical hard drive with a better performing, normally more reliable 2.5" solid state drive.  They cost more for the same size storage as a mechanical hard drive, but they are worth every penny.
