@vgsoudyn, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Here's how you can update your HP 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-c1000 (4B770AV) to the driver version 49.0.4395.18315 (HP USB driver dated 11/11/2018):

Step-by-Step Instructions to Update the Driver

Option 1: Use HP Support Assistant (Recommended)

Download HP Support Assistant from the official HP site: HP Support Assistant | HP® Support

Install and launch the application.

In the app:

  • Click "My devices".
  • Select your laptop.
  • Click "Updates".
  • Click "Check for updates and messages".

Look for the USB driver update (version 49.0.4395.18315).

  • If found, select it and click "Download and install".

Option 2: Manually Download from HP Website

Visit the official driver page for your model: HP 17-c1000 Drivers & Software

  • Scroll to the Driver-USB section.
  • Look for the driver version 49.0.4395.18315 or similar.
  • Click Download, then run the installer and follow on-screen instructions.

Option 3: Use Windows Update

  1. Go to Settings > Windows Update.
  2. Click Check for updates.
  3. If the USB driver appears under Optional Updates, install it from there.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • If the update fails or doesn’t appear:
    • Ensure your Windows 11 is fully updated.
    • Restart your PC and try again.
    • Use Device Manager to manually update the USB driver:
      • Right-click Start > Device Manager.
      • Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
      • Right-click the relevant USB device > Update driver > Search automatically

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
