Hi @sam102505

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your Laptop, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

If your laptop is experiencing thermal shutdowns even when it doesn’t feel hot, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue:

1. Check for Dust and Debris: Dust buildup can obstruct airflow and trap heat. Open the laptop (if you’re comfortable) and carefully clean the vents and fans using compressed air.

2. Update Drivers: Ensure all drivers, particularly for the GPU and chipset, are up to date. Outdated drivers can cause improper thermal management.

3. Check Power Settings: Make sure your power settings are configured correctly. High-performance settings can lead to excessive heat production. Try switching to a balanced or power-saving mode.

4. Thermal Paste Replacement: If your laptop is older, the thermal paste between the CPU/GPU and heatsinks may have degraded. Replacing it can improve heat transfer and lower temperatures.

5. Inspect the Cooling System: Make sure that the cooling fans are functioning properly. Listen for unusual noises or check if they’re spinning when the laptop is under load.

6. BIOS/UEFI Update: Sometimes, updating the BIOS can resolve thermal management issues. Please follow these steps to update Bios.
