How to recover star wars theme onto the star wars special edition after factory reset
12-29-2020 01:02 PM

I just purchised a limited edition star wars laptop and the previous owner factory reset it before they shipped it out to me. Is there any way I can recover the star wars content back onto the laptop or is it lost forever?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824
Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you for posting back.
I understand that you lost the star wars features like themes and sound effects after the hard drive replacement and you could not recover it.
I suggest that you download all the updates from HP Support Assistant and check.
You may check this link for using HP Support Assistant from the link: Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 10, 8, 7)
If the issue persists, then you may need to order HP Recovery Discs or an HP USB Recovery Drive and perform a recovery on the unit.
The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
