Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I migrated my notebook from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and everything went properly. Suddenly the notebook showed a blue screen and there was no way to fi the situation. So I had to reset it using HP recovery tool. I could recover the notebook but it returned to Windows 8.1 and lost all data. At present the free upgrade to Windows 10 is over, but is there any way to return to Windows 10?

Thanks for a reply 🙂

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

Actually, once you have done the Upgrade and your PC has been activated in Win10, MS has a record of that activation, so you can use the link to create Win10 installation media and do the Upgrade again:  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install?ocid=ms_wol_win10

It will reactivate automatically once you get back online.

Good Luck

Good Morning and thank you for your previous and useful help.

But now there are two problems:

1) Unfortunately the tool to recover my previous saved data did not work properly. Every time I restart the file restore.exe from my external data disk, I receive the error code FFFFFF 15 and everything stops, so that I have to go out form the programme. Is there a solution to fix it?;

2) the finger sensor does not work anymore (no flashing light, no reaction when I put my finger on it) and in order to access Windows 10 I always have to login with user name and password. Hopefully there is a solution for that too.

Hoping to have clearly explained these new problems, I thank you in advance.

Kind regards.
