  • I turned on safe mode on my laptop and restarted the laptop. Since then, the internet connection has gone. And there is no option to turn on the internet. The main problem is - there was a PIN in the lock screen for security. But now I can't see any option to open the laptop with the PIN. Here it shows - "something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your PIN again.

Set up my PIN."

There is no option to input the previous PIN. There is also no way to set up a new PIN because there is no option to turn on the internet.

When I try to install Windows again, the laptop's SSD drive is not shown, only the Removable USB Pendrive is shown.

Note :
SSD Drive not working.
Internet connection not available.
PIN Input option not working.

Hi @fmjoynal

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If your HP laptop is stuck in Safe Mode and you're experiencing issues such as no internet connection and problems with your PIN, follow these steps to exit Safe Mode:

Use the System Configuration Tool:

  • Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog.
  • Type msconfig and press Enter to open the System Configuration window.
  • Navigate to the "Boot" tab.
  • Uncheck the "Safe boot" option.
  • Click "Apply" and then "OK."
  • Restart your laptop to boot into normal mode.

Use Command Prompt:

  • Restart your laptop and press F8 repeatedly during startup until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears.
  • Use the arrow keys to select "Safe Mode with Command Prompt" and press Enter.
  • In the command prompt window, type bcdedit /deletevalue {current} safeboot and press Enter.
  • Restart your laptop to boot into normal mode.

Internet Connection and PIN Issue:

  • Once back in normal mode, you should be able to reconnect to the internet. If not, ensure your network drivers are enabled.
  • For the PIN issue, if the login screen prompts you to set up a new PIN, follow the steps to set it up again.
  • If setting a new PIN does not resolve the problem, consider logging in with your password and resetting your PIN through the account settings.

Additional Troubleshooting:

  • Ensure all device drivers, especially network drivers, are up to date after exiting Safe Mode.
  • If needed, update your Windows settings and check for any available system updates.

If these steps do not resolve the issues, you may need to look into additional troubleshooting options or contact HP Support for assistance.
