I was given a laptop and it’s too slow (HP Laptop 15-bs0xx, model 7265NGW, SN# [personal info removed]) It has intel core i7, 8GB RAM, 64-bit operating system, Windows 10 Home. I’m not sure why it becomes so slow when it doesn’t have any files in it, no applications installed yet. Can someone please help me identify why is it so slow when the specs seem ideal? Thanks!

Your notebook was manufactured in 2017 during the 45th week of the calendar year.
The 4th, 5th and 6th characters of the serial number will always be numbers.
The 4th = the year of manufacture (0 - 9).
The 5th and 6th = the week of manufacture (01 - 52).
I would say that the reason your notebook seems slow is due to the 2.5" mechanical hard drive it comes with.
Replace that with a much better performing 2.5" SATA SSD, or your notebook has a M.2 slot that supports M.2 SATA SSD's, not NVMe.
