Hi  @verdas,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I Understand your concern, don’t worry let me help you with this.

Could you please share the exact HP laptop model ?

Kindly confirm the below details :

When did the  battery error first appear  right after the CMOS reset (502) error, or later?

Is the battery the original HP battery that came with the laptop, or was it replaced at some point?

Does the laptop still boot and run normally after showing the error, or does it shut down?

For the earlier 90B fan error, did you notice loud fan noise or overheating before it appeared?

Kindly share the update post following the below steps:

  1. Check battery authenticity: Open HP Support Assistant - Battery Check. If it flags “counterfeit,” the battery may be non‑genuine or failing.
  2. Run hardware diagnostics: Restart and press F2 -choose “Battery Test” and “Fan Test.” This will confirm if the battery or cooling system is failing.

It’s possible these issues are separate (battery , fan , CMOS), but sometimes they point to hardware issue. If diagnostics confirm battery failure, you may need a genuine HP replacement battery.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
