Hi @Tchuissi

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop is displaying "Boot Device Not Found," it usually indicates that the system cannot locate the operating system to boot from. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

1. Check BIOS Settings

  • Restart your laptop and press the appropriate key (usually F2, F10, or Esc) to enter the BIOS setup.
  • Ensure that the hard drive is recognized in the BIOS. If it’s not listed, there may be a hardware issue.

2. Run Hard Drive Diagnostics

  • In the BIOS, look for a diagnostics or tools option to run a hard drive test. This can help identify if the hard drive is failing.

3. Check Physical Connections

  • If you're comfortable doing so, you can open the laptop (if it’s not under warranty) and check that the hard drive is properly connected. Reseat it if necessary.

4. Reset BIOS to Default

  • In the BIOS menu, you can reset settings to default. Sometimes incorrect BIOS settings can lead to boot issues.

5. Check for Recent Changes

  • If you've recently made changes to the hardware or installed new software, consider reverting those changes.

6. Create a Recovery Drive

  • If you have access to another computer, you can create a Windows recovery drive on a USB stick. Boot from this drive to repair or reinstall Windows.

7. Restore System

  • If you can access recovery options, try restoring your system to a previous point where it was working.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
