Hp laptop stuck on preparing self repair/ please wait

My hp laptop has been very slow and would often get stuck on the lock screen. one day when i try to turn on my laptop it says ' preparing automatic repair'. I let my laptop be for almost 3 days and nothing happened. So i factory reset my laptop to try and fix this, but now its stuck on the 'please wait' screen. I have no clue what to do. I cant find any videos to help me and this is my last resort before i completely ditch the laptop all together. Please help.
