I have done all the suggested fixes and none work.
The blue screen referring to windows.com/stopcode keeps coming up. The stopcode is ACPI BIOS ERROR .
It appears the hard drive got damaged during the latest WIN 10 update several days ago, June 25 .
I had it do the System Extensive Test and it quickly came back with Hard Drive Short DST Check: FAILED
FAILURE ID: RSNKNJ-7SCCMQ-MFPWMF-60T503
I was able to get the machine to reload F.54 bios. When it did it stayed on instead of turning itself off.
I let it stay on for several hours then had to disconnect the battery and power cord to shut it off.
I restarted it and it came up with black screen saying the previous BIOS image was being removed.
I hope at this point if I replace the hard drive I can recover the data from it somehow.
The machine went into Preparing automatic repair cycle again, and would neither boot from USB or My Book 1Tb that has recovery info from Dec 2024 on it, it stopped backing up files saying that I needed to reconnect the drive, which it was always connected to.
Do you have a suggestion for hard drive data recovery provider in S. Carolina Charleston area or at least in the state?
Thanks for your help.
