Hi @RUPA78,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I’m sorry you’re having trouble starting the system. Since you are seeing Error 520 during startup, I’d like to first determine whether the issue is related to the hardware before we proceed with any recovery or software changes.

Please start with HP Hardware Diagnostics

  1. Completely turn off the computer by holding the Power button for about 5 seconds.
  2. Turn it back on.
  3. Immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
  4. When the Startup Menu appears, press F2
  5. Select System Tests → Fast Test → Run once

HP recommends the F2 diagnostics when Windows cannot start, as the tests run outside Windows and can identify a possible hardware failure.

If the Fast Test reports a failure, please do not proceed with other recovery steps yet. Write down the 24-digit Failure ID and the component that failed. HP uses this Failure ID to identify the hardware problem and determine the appropriate support/repair action.

If the Fast Test passes, please let us know that as well.

Please reply with:

  • The exact Error 520 message you see (a photo would be helpful).
  • Whether F2 Diagnostics opens successfully
  • The Fast Test result
  • Any 24-digit Failure ID displayed.

Once we have the F2 diagnostic result and the exact Error 520 message, we can determine the correct next step without making unnecessary changes to your system.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
