Hi @DovaRhae,
I understand your HP Laptop 15‑ef1078nr is showing initialization and crash errors when launching HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.
Uninstall and Reinstall HP Support Assistant
Open Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program.
Remove "HP Support Assistant" and "HP Support Solutions Framework."
Restart the PC, then download fresh versions from HP’s official site.
Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI. Turn off the laptop.
Press Esc repeatedly while turning it on, then select Diagnostics (F2).
Run the extensive test for storage and memory.
If a Failure ID appears, enter it on HP's repair page to start the process.
Check Windows Services for HP Framework.
Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
Ensure "HP Support Solutions Framework Service" is set to Automatic and Running.
If stopped, right‑click > Start.
Update BIOS and Firmware
Visit HP's support page for your model (15‑ef1078nr).
Download and install the latest BIOS and firmware updates.
Restart and retry the diagnostics tool.
I hope this helps
Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Hi @DovaRhae,
Thanks for updating me. If you can’t remember your Windows administrator password, here are the safe ways to get back into your HP Laptop 15‑ef1078nr:
Use Microsoft Account Reset
If your admin account is linked to a Microsoft account, go to account.live.com/password/reset.
Reset the password online, then sign in with the new one.
Use another admin account.
If another admin account exists on your laptop, log in there and reset your password from Control Panel > User Accounts.
Use Safe Mode with Command Prompt
Boot into Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
Enter net user <yourusername> <newpassword> to reset.
Reset Windows
If none of the above works, you may need to perform a Windows reset.
This reinstalls Windows but can keep your personal files if you choose “Keep my files.”

Hello,
Thanks again for your continued help, your suggested response is helpful if I was able to achieve any of those actions. It's not my Microsoft Password that i have forgotten it's the BIOS administrator password. I sent it a long time ago and was never asked to use it until now. I also have the power on password, but I use that one every time i turn on my computer so easy enough for me to remember that one. I did have the admin password written down however I have moved since then and cannot for the life of me find where i put the **bleep** thing, Any help in this situation?
