This has been in box since I purchased in late May, just pulled it out of box to register and learned it is now out of warranty and past return deadline. Any help will be appreciated.

I read your post and i understand your computer is stuck in the demo mode.
I'd like to help, we would have to perform a system recovery on the computer to resolve the issue.
For instructions to perform a system recovery, refer to Performing a System Recovery (Windows 10)
And also validate your computer warranty using the link- How to Submit a Dispute to Validate Your Warranty
