I haven’t used this laptop in years. When I started it the date is from 2023. When I try to connect to WiFi it only shows old networks I’ve used in the past but I can’t find my new one. I’ve tried to reset my computer but it says I don’t have enough space

Hi @Karlabee
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It looks like you might be dealing with several issues on your laptop, such as outdated network lists and insufficient storage space. Here are some steps you can take to potentially resolve these issues:
Connecting to New WiFi
- Update Network List
- Refresh WiFi list: Sometimes the WiFi list doesn't refresh automatically. Click on the WiFi icon in the system tray, and then click on "Refresh" or "Show available networks" to see if your new network appears.
- Check proximity and router settings: Ensure that you are within range of the new WiFi network and that the router is working correctly.
- Restart WiFi Adapter: Disable and then re-enable your laptop's WiFi adapter. You can do this by going to Device Manager, finding the network adapters section, right-clicking on your WiFi adapter, and selecting "Disable." Wait a few moments, then right-click again and select "Enable."
Handling Storage Space Issues
- Free Up Space
- Check disk usage: Go to This PC and check how much space is available on your hard drive. Delete unnecessary files or programs that you no longer need.
- Disk cleanup: Run the built-in disk cleanup tool. You can find it by searching for "Disk Cleanup" in the start menu. Select the files you want to delete (temporary files, system cache, etc.) and click "OK."
- External storage: Consider moving some files to an external hard drive or USB stick to free up space.
- Uninstall unused programs: Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall programs that you haven’t used in a while.
Resetting the Date and Time
- Set correct date and time
- Manual setting: Right-click on the date and time in the system tray and click "Adjust date/time." Ensure the time zone is set correctly and manually change the date and time if it is incorrect.
- Automatic setting: Turn on "Set time automatically" if it's not already enabled.
If these steps don't resolve your issues, you might need to look into performing a system restore or a clean installation of the operating system, but ensure your important files are backed up first.
