HP ENVY - 17-ae006na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a pretty high spec HP ENVY Laptop 17-ae0xxl running on Windows 10 that will not update to Windows 11...   Any idea what I can do?  It is in really good condition and I do not want to replace it as I simply could not afford the equivalent now. It definitely does not deserve to be scrapped Surely there is something that can be done.  Any ideas welcome.  Thanks

Its specs

It has an Intel Gen 7 processor namely Intel® Core™ i5-7200U (2.5 GHz base frequency, up to 3.1 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 3 MB cache, 2 cores). Windows 11 requires Intel Gen 8 up or on the following list

If you wish to run Windows 11 before buying newer machine please use the following way:

Installing Windows 11 on devices that don't meet minimum system requirements

Hi, @NanaD99

If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2/22H3

This is by far the easiest way to upgrade to W11 on an unsupported PC:

You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.
