Pavilion Laptop, but I dont know the model or or anything else, HELP
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Computer is running Windows 10 . . . but it keeps shutting down and when I do login with the current password. (That's another story) it just goes to a black screen. So I can't get to the shutdown shortcut, I'm forced to hold down the power button, until it shuts down! (bad for it). Then I push the power button to start the computer and again i  login to the black screen. I keep trying this over and over and over again, but nothing ever chancges. I also want to change the name on the lock screen and  anywhere it shows up.  I also need to change or reset the password, so i can login to my computer any other website. I will watch for a forum message or if you want you could send me email direcly . My email address is . . . [edit] Thanks for reading this posting!  I'm sending this posting on a friends computer. If you can help me, I do appreciate it!

Doing a CLEAN install, Windows will take care HDD for you.  Since your machine previously ran Windows 10, you can do a clean install W10 for free by using the media creation tool at the link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

The tool will allow you to make a bootable installation media (USB/DVD) and you can use installation media to install.

During the installation process if you are asked to enter a product key, check the 'Skip' box and W10 will install and then automatically activate once you are connected to the internet using the key embedded in BIOS of your machine.

Then you can install the drivers and available software you need from your PC's support page.
