Hi, I have a Pavilion g6-2235us laptop that came with Windows 8, 64bit and I'm trying to downgrade to Wondows 7. I was able to install licenced copy of 7 Home Premium from a DVD, using the legacy boot option, but many of the divice controllers aren't working and need the correct drivers. (Ethernet, Network, PCI, SM Buss, USB)
Can anyone tell me if, and where, I can find the correct set of drivers that will work with Window 7 Home Premium?
A little background:
I'm not a fan of windows 8 or 10 and the computer was having issues after several automatic updates. I eventually did the free upgrade to windows 10 and that made it even worse with it running slow, freezing, and crashing. All my other pcomuters run window 7 and I have zero issues with them. I'm really hoping there's a fix for this and would very much appreciate any help.
Thanks,
John

Hi, @JohnnyB82
You can use all of the W7 x64 drivers and software from the g7z-2100 on your model, except the BIOS and firmware files.
In addition to the above drivers, you will also need to install the AMD Chipset Drivers and restart the PC.
That file will install the smbus and usb controllers.
You want the 1st file listed on the webpage...

Thanks so much for your help, Paul. It worked GREAT!
I burned all the files to a DVD, from my desktop, because that was the only thing on the laptop that was working. I didn't bother with a few of the drivers, like the video and sound, because they already seemed to be working fine like the DVD drive.
As you suggested, I started with the AMD chipset driver which installed perfectly, but when I installed several of the other drivers, a few of them, such as the wireless adapter, gave error messages saying they did not install properly. However, the LAN jack was now up and running so I let it run through several rounds of automatic Windows Updates (about 150 or so) which took a while because each time I restarted after install, it would find a few more (which I know is typical), but when it was finally finished, the wireless networking was now working fine too.
So, everything seems to be fantastic! It boots up and opens programs fast, like it should, and it's not freezing or crashing like it was with Win 8 and 10. I can't thank you enough for your help.
