I want to obtain the SMC.BIN file or any official solution allowing me to reset the BIOS password

Thank you for reaching out. Please note that the BIOS password is manually set by the device owner (or administrator), and for security and privacy reasons, HP cannot reset or override BIOS passwords through software or files like the SMC.BIN.

Important Information:

  • BIOS/UEFI passwords are not stored in a way that can be recovered.
  • If the password is forgotten or unknown, the only supported solution is a hardware-level repair, which involves replacing the system board or the BIOS security chip.
  • This is a chargeable service, and must be carried out by HP Authorized Service Providers.
