Is it true that once you replace a new hard drive in your notebook, the recovery media will never work because of a chip in the motherboard?  I have gotten wonderful assistance on here but I just read on another post, that once you replace the HDD, your screwed because of a chip in the motherboard and only HP can fix it.  Did I just waste my time and money? PLEASE, PLEASE, someone help. Now, I'm all confused, Thanks so much.
