@Bevilati

Thank you for responding,

It's great to have you back 😉

I'll answer your questions one after the other to keep it simple:

  1. YES, that's exactly what I mean. (Using the start bar - create the recovery drive).

  2. I'm happy that you've told me about the malware, to let you know if you have an active anti-malware installed, the same will either quarantine or delete the malware, so run a full system scan to ensure it's removed and then create the recovery drive.

  3. If you have issues creating the drive, you can always order one online: Click here to know about obtaining a recovery media.

Let me know how that works out, keep me in the loop and Good luck! 😉

@Bevilati

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand you have queries about the internet connection and the recovery system,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Perhaps, you should start with providing details on what issues are you going through at the moment?

Is the internet working? is the computer working without any issues?

or Are you creating this to resolve any specific issues?

While you respond to that, here's what you need to know about creating a recovery media:

Creating a Microsoft recovery USB drive

A recovery drive can troubleshoot problems with your computer even when the operating system does not open. You can also copy the HP Recovery partition to the drive. Follow these steps to create a recovery USB drive:

  1. Connect a USB drive to the computer.

       CAUTION:

    Everything on the drive is deleted when you create the recovery drive.

       NOTE:

    Copying the recovery partition uses a large amount of space and requires a large capacity USB drive.

  2. In Windows, type create a recovery drive into Search and then select Create a recovery drive from the search results.

  3. Select Backup system files to the recovery drive if you want to copy the recovery partition to the USB drive. Copying the recovery partition uses a large amount of space and requires a large capacity USB drive.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE STEPS AND INSTRUCTIONS.

If you have any internet issues as such: Click here to troubleshoot & resolve common issues.

Let me know how that works out, keep me in the loop and Good luck! 😉

I'm afraid you cannot create it from the HPSA, however, as described in the steps from the link I shared earlier and as mentioned below:

  1. In Windows, type "create a recovery drive" into Search, and then select Create a recovery drive from the search results.

  2. Select Back up system files to the recovery drive if you want to copy the recovery partition to the USB drive. Copying the recovery partition uses a large amount of space and requires a large capacity USB drive.

Keep me posted for further assistance 😉

I have a question before doing that.

Should i transfer all the file like Music, Documents..etc to my external storage first then do the process of creating the recovery media by HPSA?

@Bevilati

Thank you for responding,

I hope you are well 🙂

Safety is a priority, so please go ahead and transfer all the files to an external storage, however, the process of creating a recovery media from the recovery media creator doesn't affect any of your files as such, you may go ahead backup either way.

And please, I request you to follow the instruction again as it isn't created on HPSA but the recovery media creator.

Let me know how that works out, keep me in the loop and Good luck! 😉

Hello,

So, that's mean you are recommending me to use the "CREATE THE RECOVERY DRIVE" that located in the START bar?

Okay i will do that. But my laptop got affected by some malware but not strong one. Is it can give negative impact for the recovery media that i created? and my future use of the back up will also bring the malware alive?

HELLO,

I have try to create using HPSA but why it says "We are experiancing errors in recovery media creation. Please try again." (With turn on the internet as the HPSA cannot do anything without internet)

Before that i have tried using the Microsoft style and the result also the same.Please wait and the green bar always running non-stop for a longer time. But nothing appeared afterward.

@Bevilati

Thank you for replying,

I understand your concern!

And As I had previously suggested - "If you have issues creating the drive, you can always order one online: Click here to know about obtaining a recovery media."

This should help you obtain the recovery media with a nominal fee, however, if the computer is under the factory warranty or the first month and you've not been able to create the recovery media Contact Phone support and they mayhelp you with the charges as well:

HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: http://h22207.www2.hp.com/us-en/?openCLC=true

(1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.

(2) Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.

(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.

(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get the phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.
