Product: HP laptop 15-bs
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I backed up my MacBook Pro on external hard drive just before buying a HP laptop. I have tried to transfer the data onto the HP but it doesn’t recognise the hard drive (couldn’t find it on file explorer).
Please can someone advise on what I can do to transfer the data on to the HP.

Unfortunately I have no experience with Apple computers, but Google suggests this:

People are using their precious remaining lifetime to try and help, so it is common courtesy to come back and tell what the solution eventually was even if you found it elsewhere. It is for the benefit of everyone.
