HP Envy x360 14 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-es1000 (8Y9G5AV)

I bought a brand-new HP laptop in June 2024. Later, I noticed that it had some internal screen damage. The seller then agreed to provide me with a new replacement laptop and shared the serial number of the proposed new device.

However, when I checked the product status using the provided serial number, it showed the warranty status as 'Active' with the following details:

  • Start date: November 2, 2024

  • End date: December 6, 2025

Product number: #R#R#UA (# represents a numerical digit)

How can I verify if this is a genuine, brand-new laptop? I have not yet received the laptop in hand.

Hi @Wathsala,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The warranty start date you see might be based on the store's purchase date rather than when you receive or start using the device. Without having the laptop physically and checking its exact details, it's difficult to confirm if it's a brand-new unit.

Once you receive the laptop, if the warranty start date doesn’t match your purchase date, you can have it corrected by providing a copy of your invoice. This will adjust the warranty to reflect the correct start date. I hope I was able to answer your query.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
