Hi, I've reinstalled Windows several times through the HP cloud recovery as well as just a normal reinstallation of Windows 11.
Recently, I've started getting random SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION & SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED or even an occasional VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR when it is on with discord/steam open. I've tried to isolate the problem, and the crashes still occur from a fresh restart and just unlocking my laptop after a while.
It's been extremely hard to work, considering I can't even leave it on to come back to something without a random crash that shouldn't be happening right after I reinstalled Windows. I've also updated my graphics drivers and gotten all system updates from windows as well as from the HP support assistant tool

Hi @JayFabu,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for the detailed background—this is a frustrating issue, especially after multiple reinstalls. Based on your Victus by HP 15-fb2000 laptop and the SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, and VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR blue screen errors, here's a comprehensive plan to diagnose and fix the problem.
1. Boot into Safe Mode
This helps isolate the issue without loading third-party drivers:
- Restart your laptop and interrupt boot 3 times (force shut down during the HP logo).
- Choose Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
- Press F4 to boot into Safe Mode.
2. Clean Install GPU Drivers
Even if you've updated them, a clean install is more thorough:
- Use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in Safe Mode to remove all GPU drivers.
- Download the latest AMD Radeon drivers from AMD’s official site.
- Install them manually, not through Windows Update.
3. Disable Fast Startup
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.
- Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
- Uncheck Turn on fast startup.
4. Run Extensive tests and share the results-
1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
3. On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
4. Click Extensive Test.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
